VISD to implement one-to-one technology districtwide

Beginning in the 2022-23 school year, Victoria ISD will begin implementing one-to-one technology districtwide. This will be rolled out over the next three school years, with grades three through five receiving Chromebooks in the 2022-23 school year, grades six through eight in 2023-24, and grades nine through 12 in 2024-25. 

Victoria ISD’s Gifted and Talented program’s summer referrals are open for all students who will be entering first through 12th grade for the 2022-23 school year.

Victoria ISD’s Office of Innovation will be hosting a VISD Finding Your “&” Choice Expo on Tuesday, Feb. 22 for all students and families interested in learning about Choice Schools in VISD. Choice Schools in VISD include Smith STEM Academy, Stroman STEM Academy and Hopkins, Shields and Patti Welder elementary’s Personalized Learning campuses.

The Victoria Independent School District (VISD) is seeking community members who are interested in serving as a Bond Oversight Committee (BOC) member. The Bond Oversight Committee is being established following voter approval of Proposition C - New Mission Valley Elementary School, a $25.845MM construction bond.

VISD's CTE students participate in work-based learning

For the 2021-22 school year, Victoria ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) students across the district are participating in work-based learning with various Victoria-area businesses.

While this alumnus already loved music, a few key educators in his life helped him see the bigger picture and realize his dreams of becoming an educator himself. After graduating in 2015, Willord Simmons set off to make those dreams a reality.

In Victoria ISD, there is constant chatter about us wanting students to find their ‘And’. As many know by now, Finding Their ‘And’ means when seniors walk across the stage at graduation, they have a diploma AND… will leave us prepared for a successful launch into a career, military, college and life to be a contributing member of society. This is the key Finding of Finding Their' And' in the District Strategic Plan.
